About My Clients
I help clients navigate various challenges including relationships, career, and changes in their health status due to aging, illness or injury. I also coach clients seeking enhanced motivation to tackle behavioral changes related to work and health. I trained as a psychotherapist after a long career as a lawyer and enjoy helping clients focus on pragmatic goals as well as the philosophical challenges that life presents.
My Approach to Helping
I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and received training in CBT from the Beck Institute in addition to my masters from UT. CBT is usually enhanced by other treatment modalities such as Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology delivered in the context of a warm, respectful, therapeutic relationship. My research interests include procrastination, health promotion, gifted/talented adults and financial therapy.
