About My Clients
I help adults and adolescents of all identities live more authentic, integrated, and fulfilling lives. Perhaps you are feeling stuck in a pattern or situation that creates suffering in your life. You might be seeking more fulfillment, meaning, or purpose but don’t know where to start. You deserve to feel better, and you CAN experience freedom and lasting change through evidence-based psychotherapy.
My Background and Approach
Therapy with me tends to feel collaborative and conversational. I believe wholeheartedly in the mind/body connection and work with clients to increase awareness and implement change using somatic and behavioral approaches. Working with me, you can expect an integration of evidence-based practices which may include mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), self-compassion, and strengths-based practices. My work is also trauma-informed, taking into account how past events may be affecting the present. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, general stress management, grief and loss (including non-death loss), family of origin work, identity exploration, life transitions, shame and self-doubt, and trauma processing and recovery. Outside of private practice, I also have experience working in hospitals treating severe mental illness in adults and adolescents.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Helping people uncover their potential through compassionate mental health counseling is my soul’s true calling. I am humbled to have the opportunity to cultivate genuine, caring relationships with clients in my work and to witness the healing power of therapy everyday. I am a passionate supporter and advocate for equal rights FOR ALL identities. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space for you to come and be your truest self—this is where the deep work begins. I consider my humanness to be my superpower as a therapist. While I possess a set of tools and expertise to help clients succeed, I approach the therapy process with immense humility and will never pretend to have all the answers. Like you, I am a person with strengths, weaknesses, struggles, and successes, and I try my best to tap into this humanness to cultivate genuine empathy in my work with clients. I view the therapy process as a dynamic co-creation and will always emphasize your autonomy as the client.
