About My Clients
I work with kids and teenagers to support them in the challenges they face with finding their identity, navigating relationships, and experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and anger. I work with parents to help them better understand and support their children so they can be more connected. I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety or depression to help them to live their lives more fully, based on what is important to them.
My Background and Approach
I treat each person I see with utmost respect. I respect each person’s values and the journey that they are on. In therapy, I focus on building a safe space, with empathy and understanding, with supportiveness and encouragement, and without judgment or shame. This supportive environment helps people to do the hard work of going deep in oneself and learning new ways of being. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor therapy to each person’s and family’s particular needs and situation. I’ve spent 8 years working as a therapist in school settings and 7 years in a community mental health clinic, working with many children, teenagers, parents, and adults. I’ve also had the opportunity to supervise many therapists who were working towards getting licensed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that it takes much courage and strength to recognize our need for help and then to seek out that help. I will walk alongside you to support you in finding hope and healing from your current struggles and past wounds. I provide a safe and supportive space to explore what is going on for you now and how your past has influenced you, and to learn new ways of being and doing. I help you to grow in knowing more about who you are, who you want to be and what you want to be about. My hope is for you to experience greater wholeness, discover yourself, and build more meaningful relationships, so you can pursue your dreams and passions and live your life to the fullest.
