About My Clients
I specialize in two main types of clients - those who require a deep understanding of trauma and those with neurodivergent characteristics; think military Veterans and the ASD population. My clients are trying to make sense of their lives through a conversational exploration style that is far from cold or clinical. I am simply here to create a truly safe space for you to explore your thoughts, help you process experiences, and begin to enjoy life again.
My Background and Approach
I am a therapist & life coach with over 13 years of experience in Psychology. I have a BA in Psychology from UC Davis & an MA in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northcentral University. My clinical expertise includes college students, Veterans, couples & families as well as extensive experience with neurodivergent children, families, & couples. I also provide ASD assessments. My main treatment focuses include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which is a form of psycho-social treatment that focuses on challenging and changing negative thought patterns in order to improve emotional regulation and develop coping skills to reduce symptomology; and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), which is a strengths-based approach to therapy focused on solving current presenting problems and understanding their roots. These modalities, coupled with a focus on advanced behavior therapy, attachment theory, and cognitive dissonance, allow me to serve a diverse and broad population.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you don't always have to understand someone's journey, but what truly matters is that you want to. My journey along the path of psychology has opened my eyes and heart more than I could have ever asked. I have had the privilege to work alongside our neurodivergent population, our Dreamers & DACA recipients, our Veterans, our anxious & depressed, our college students, our single parents trying to figure it the heck out, sisters trying to reconnect, and our married couples who are just trying to make it to the weekend. And through these stories, I have developed a passion to help that drives me every day. Come say hi. Let's see if you're on the spectrum and what that might mean. Let's see if we can calm that loud mind. Let's see if I can help you step forward into that next chapter a little lighter and with a little more clarity. Let's learn self-acceptance and how to be yourself, a little more healed, and a whole lot unapologetically. Let's see.
