My Background and Approach
As a seasoned therapist, I draw from various modalities to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. I've developed a variety of tools- supported by evidence- that will help you address anxiety, depression, and trauma. Due to an influx of neurodivergent clients, I've also worked hard to incorporate neurodiverse-friendly strategies and skills to make life and emotions more manageable. I aim to help people learn how to feel and metabolize their emotions and experiences so they can choose the way forward with their eyes unclouded. I believe in using direct communication, humor and warmth to provide you the education, safety and tools you need in order to succeed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
There is so much going on in the world right now and it is hard to not feel isolated and defeated. Now is the time that we need to lean on our community and tap into our shared resilience. I incorporate a systems perspective- looking at how different systems and identities influence our well-being, our understanding of the world, and our experience in it. I work hard to stay curious, humble and brave for each of my clients so that I can understand what the world is like for you. I truly believe the benefit of therapy is in helping you to identify your own values and beliefs so that your decisions are ones you can stand by and feel fulfilled in. Beyond being a therapist, I am a reader and an animal lover. I love a little craft or puzzle and a juicy TV show or movie in the background.
