About My Clients
I serve adults ages 21 and over. You may be working toward cultivating a more positive relationship with yourself. You may be experiencing anxiety due to painful and stressful life experiences. You may be feeling destabilized due to isolation, lack of structure, panic attacks, or trauma history. Are you striving for a more fulfilling life and recognize that you are ready for a change? My Background and Approach
Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, I enjoyed a thoroughly satisfying career spanning 25 years as a social worker. Due to my strong desire to broaden my helping skills, I received my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the accredited program at Antioch University and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in WA. My demeanor is personable and nonjudgemental and I provide a supportive space with warmth, humor (yes humor), and encouragement. I view successful therapy as an experience where your strengths and values are supported while you navigate toward your chosen life direction. As part of my integrative approach, I use a combination of different techniques and model a variety of skills to help balance the nervous system, relieve negative feelings, and enhance perspective. PLEASE NOTE ~ Private pay only. I am an out-of-network provider for most insurance companies and I offer a monthly statement known as a superbill that you may submit to your insurance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Throughout my life and career, I gained valuable insight into the human capacity to be amazingly resilient when adequate supports are available. Sometimes painful experiences leave us feeling stuck and an authentic connection with a counselor in a supportive, therapeutic environment, where it is okay to shed some tears and even enjoy the benefits of some stress-relieving laughter, can make a world of difference.
