About My Clients

Many of my clients are exploring what it means to be their most authentic self, and how to deal with the barriers that stand in their way. They're looking for a place to be seen and understood, and to be able to let down their guard. I see clients with significant trauma histories, anxiety, and depression, looking for relief and a deeper healing that takes them to a place of ease and fulfillment. They may have tried other solutions, but feel stuck and eager for a lasting and meaningful change.

My Background and Approach

I've worked for over 15 years in different capacities advocating for survivors of abuse, shifting to clinical practice in recent years, with a focus on supporting folks navigating trauma, identity, neurodiversity, depression, and anxiety. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and love to find creative solutions that honor clients’ own expertise on their lived experiences. I’m certified in EMDR, and I operate from a feminist, trauma-informed, person-centered, and strengths-based lens. This means I look at the whole person and their intersecting identities and how that functions in their world; I prioritize your felt sense of safety and collaborate with you as an active and empowered participant in your own healing; I see you as a person, not a diagnosis; and I believe you have within you so much goodness and strength that can help you to heal. I view my role as a co-conspirator, and hold sacred the gift of walking alongside you through the shadows.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe we can't "therapy" away systemic oppression, and I'm interested in supporting you in getting free- however that looks. I bring my full, human self to my work, and recognize my privileges and biases as a white, able-bodied person with educational and economic privileges. I operate from an anti-racist and abolitionist mindset, and believe this involves an ongoing commitment of learning and unlearning, and concrete action within the context of community and accountability. I’m a queer, non-binary, trans person, and I'm active in the trans community. I believe that community is how we heal, grow, and thrive. I bring this perspective into my therapy work and believe that community care is a critical part of healing.
