About My Clients
Your sense of your sexuality feels like it has been cut off in a way that’s deeply confusing and unsatisfying. There’s a feeling of shrinking and needing to contain yourself, yet there’s also a desire to heal and expand. You might wonder if you’re normal and/or what your identities and sexual values are. What you're really wanting is for your head and heart to peacefully co-exist and for your relationships to flourish.
My Background and Approach
My goal as a therapist is to co-create a safe(r) space with clients to work through their wounds and limiting beliefs about their sexuality. I do this with tenderness and holding space for whatever it is you want to work on. If something feels too overwhelming to discuss, no worries, I will never push you to talk about things that feel uncomfortable to share. We work at your pace. My experience has shown me that a safe(r) environment along with a strong therapeutic relationship is where the really satisfying work unfolds. During our sessions I combine the collective wisdom of you and your insights along with talk therapy (CBT, narrative, IFS/ parts work, inner child), relational and somatic therapy, psychoeducation, and of course, trauma informed therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I don’t believe that sex, sensuality, and pleasure need the fear-based backbone that’s systemically carved into our baseline learning experience. People deserve to heal their sexual relationship with themselves and to have pleasurable embodied experiences that can adapt to every season of life. I believe you deserve accurate and empowering sex positive information. I believe you deserve to embrace the layers of your sexuality, without shame. I’ve learned that embracing the expansiveness that is human sexuality is incredibly healing. There is so much beauty in the variety of expression (spoiler alert, it’s not just about sex) and I can’t wait to invite you to witness it for yourself.
