About My Clients
I practice with a client-centered approach while cohesively using different counseling methods, such as CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. In a time when overall wellness is the lowest for many individuals, I encourage my clients to connect with themselves through mindfulness and self-care. I am interested in working with adults on life transitions, anxiety, trauma, depression, stress management, low self-esteem, and family issues.
My Background and Approach
I am currently a Resident in Counseling under the clinical supervision of Tricia Mazza, LPC. I received my Masters in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health in 2020 from Virginia Tech. Go Hokies! Since then, I have been working as a full-time elementary school counselor. By having the opportunity to work with both adults and children, I have been able to expand my world-view and increase my skills as a counselor.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that counseling creates the opportunity for individuals to learn, grow, and eventually thrive. By building a trusting relationship with my clients, I have confidence that change can happen. I believe that each individual is unique and deserves to have a fulfilling life. The therapeutic relationship allows me to provide unconditional positive regard, empathy, and tools for growth. My goal is to help support you by using evidence-based counseling services.
