About My Clients
The people who typically come in to see me are those struggling with a variety of issues like depression, anxiety, a teen discovering their identity, or someone coming to terms with their sexual identity and behavior among other things. As I said, I am open to working with you to overcome pretty much any problem you may be facing! I know taking that first step can be daunting, but once you do, you open yourself to a brighter future.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. Both of these are great psychotherapy models which emphasize the interaction between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Under these models, we can address underlying thought processes in order to affect those behaviors which are causing disorder in your life. I have experience working in jails, group homes, and Child Protective Services and I have a special passion for helping young people find who they are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every person has a right to happiness. While achieving that entails an ever-changing set of requirements, I like to take on the role of helping you define those requirements and learn to take charge of accomplishing them. I have grown up as a child of a single mother and experienced what it is like to be lost in life. These are challenges that no one should be forced to face alone and I offer my hand in uncovering that path together.
