My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is flexible and integrates psychodynamic theories with cognitive behavioral skills. I have extensive post-graduate training in psychoanalysis and trauma-informed practice. I prioritize creating a safe space for you to express yourself and confide your thoughts and feelings. I will listen to you, support you, and point out patterns I notice to help you enhance self-awareness. Through the therapy process, you will gain insight about the heart of your anxieties and troubles and learn the tools to respond mindfully.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe there is too much pain and suffering in the world, and that shame and anxiety can hold us in that dark, painful place. My work as a therapist has connected me to so many great people I would not have otherwise had the chance to know and taught me that resilience has no limits. I am grateful form my patients who reached out when they were struggling and shared with me their time, stories, and art. I know first hand how vulnerable it feels to be a patient in therapy, and I do not take trust for granted. I'm a vegan passionate about environmentalism and animal rights. Anyone else an animal lover?
