About My Clients
Do you struggle with recognizing when you need to use your voice or set boundaries? Does putting your own needs and self-care first feel selfish or hard to do? Would you like to learn how to build healthier relationships with yourself, food, and your body? Sometimes the things we have been through in life have set the tone for what we feel we deserve. I would like to help you recognize and identify your own strengths and empower you to make changes that serve you and your goals.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in treating eating disorders, food addiction, and trauma. I believe in walking alongside my clients to identify areas of concern and empower them to change course to reach their goals. I use an eclectic approach to help my clients heal. One of the tools in my toolbox is that I am an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist. I earned my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2012. I completed my year long internship at Broward Health Medical Center in the Crisis Stabilization Unit. I worked at Milestones in Recovery, a residential eating disorder program, from January 2008 until March of 2023. I was the Clinical Director of the facility from 2018-2023. In 2017 I opened my private practice, Waves Counseling and Consulting, and in 2023 I decided to do that full-time. I pursued EMDR training in 2018 and have received additional training in using EMDR with Eating Disorders, Addictive Disorders, and Dissociative Disorders.
