In my counseling approach I help clients increase self-acceptance and become strong self advocates. I believe it's important to feel proud of the things that make you unique and unlearn ideas that these traits are actually flaws. It's up to you to decide what parts of yourself to honor and which to change -- family, employers, and peers should not be making these decisions for you. We can discuss living as authentically and comfortably as possible by making intentional choices to set boundaries, put your needs first, and be unapologetically yourself. If mastering new social skills or managing behaviors you don't like makes you feel supported, we can talk about evidence based strategies for those goals as well.
