Having worked with children with ADHD and their parents since starting my practice, I have a good sense of how impulsivity , inattention, and hyperactivity can affect the lives of people with ADHD and those around them. Using behavioral and cognitive-behavioral strategies, I help children to better self-regulate and help parents to more effectively and positively manage disruptive and challenging behaviors that come with ADHD.

When treating children, I primarily use a family-based approach and particularly enjoy working with families to help them find ways to more positively interact with their children as well as effectively manage and nurture behavior.

I have extensive experience in assessing and treating panic disorder, OCD, generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, separation anxiety, and other manifestations of anxiety. I decided to take my in-person work outdoors and quickly noticed how the process of walking and talking in a nature trail helped not only to loosen our thinking but also to create an enhanced sense of peace during the therapy hour.

Exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy is based on the idea that it is not realistic to try to completely remove distressing situations from our lives and that it is far more effective to have the tools and strategies to manage the anxiety and not allow these situations to trigger obsessions and compulsions. I first trained in ERP over 20 years ago at Texas Children's Hospital. Since then, I have used it regularly and effectively with children and adults.
