About My Clients
I work with individuals who are tired of feeling like life is happening to them and wants to take the reins. They may be struggling with stress, lack of confidence, relationships, anxiety, motivation, personal identity, or difficult life transitions. They are seeking security, confidence, and happiness and want to reach their fullest potential. They are willing to dig deep into self-reflection and want to learn skills to self-soothe, think more positively, and communicate better with others.
My Background and Approach
By asking insightful questions, challenging you, and offering support, I will teach you skills to self-soothe, reframe your thinking, explore important moments in your past and examine your present day behaviors and relationships. We will set goals to help you improve your confidence, form stronger relationships, have less anxiety and practice positive thinking. My goal is to get you to a place where you no longer need me, but you are always welcome when you do. An equally important goal of mine is to help my clients improve their relationships with others. I feel the quality of one’s relationships has a very large impact on mental health. By examining one’s attachment style, communication, and needs you will begin to form positive relationships with others. I love to share what I know with the world by offering psychoeducation, helping you find confidence, happiness, peace, and positive relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was born and raised in Minnesota, and moved to New York City after completing my master's degree. Outside of my passion for mental health, I value my family and friends, exercise, education, and work-life balance. For exercise, I enjoy strength training, running, walking, yoga, pickleball, and pilates. I also have fun with my other hobbies such as drawing, writing, fashion, and gaming. I have a cat named Matilda who will likely make an appearance in our zoom sessions. I am an advocate for women’s issues (health, equality, etc.) and volunteered for a women’s shelter that offered housing and financial education to single mothers. I am also passionate about the destigmatization of mental health. I believe mental health should no longer be a taboo subject. People should be encouraged to practice self-care, go to therapy, and openly discuss how they are really doing.
