About My Clients
The populations I serve are individuals - teens, young adults and adults under 40 facing grief/bereavement/loss, body image, self-esteem, self-reflection, women's obstacles, anxiety, adjustment and difficult life changes/decisions. My ideal clients ultimately need someone in their life who listens to them, empowers them and believes they can do great things.
My Background and Approach
During the spring of my freshman year, I took "Modern Social Welfare Dilemmas", which started my interest in social work. Midway through my junior year, my family suffered a heavy, earth-shattering loss. Being a college student, I did not have the time nor the means to regularly attend individual therapy, so I leaned into family, friends and faith to assist me during this loss. I found that there was nothing more helpful during my healing journey than the people who offered to sit with me in my pain - not offer solutions, opinions, advice or distractions. These individuals allowed me an outlet to feel all the emotions. I decided to become a therapist so I could do the same for others. My hope for clients in the healing process is that they always feel heard, truly heard. I want my clients to know that while I cannot physically step into their shoes, solve their problems, or take their problems away, they do not have to face them alone.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it is important for everyone to have a trusted person who listens and sits with them in their pain. Without judgment I offer a safe environment where clients can be their authentic selves and share concerns comfortably. My hope for you is you discover your full potential and help yourself find the relief you deserve. My therapeutic style is a mixture of honesty, challenging questions, genuineness and compassion. I'm transparent and will use gentle confrontation when needed. Through a holistic perspective, I can help you discover simple lifestyle changes that can make a huge difference in how you feel each and every day. I believe we all have the skills necessary to live a fulfilled, prosperous life within us, sometimes we just need to be given the opportunity to refine them, practice them and utilize them in day to day life.
