About My Clients

My ideal client is one that wants help and wants to change. However, I feel most comfortable working with clients that are struggling with LGBT+ issues - specifically, anxiety, depression, and lack of familial acceptance. I can relate with this type of client and empathize more than most. I can help the client find hope, encouragement, and optimism. I can assist the client sort through the life-long implications of this specific trauma.

My Background and Approach

My clients can expect to finally have a safe space of empathy and unconditional acceptance. In the comfortability of my office, my clients will not have to do this all alone. They can find someone to genuinely listen to them, to accept them truly, and wade through the trauma - no matter how uncomfortable. I am passionate about helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions at a pace that is comfortable for you. My counseling approach is different, in the way that we will only discuss the difficult stuff when the time is right. We will spend a lot of time building our relationship and trust so we can discuss your difficulties whenever you're ready.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I firmly believe that therapy will not "heal" someone - there is always more work to do. However, I know that clients will terminate services when they are able to self-soothe and feel equipped with strategies to continue the healing process. Happiness is not a state of being. We will not finally be "happy." Happiness is an emotion that will come and go. I am hopeful that my clients will learn this and celebrate the joy when it arrives but have hope when it's missing. I want my clients to heal from the big things and find happiness in the little things. My clients will feel equipped and encouraged that they can overcome anything. Before graduating, my clients will find hope that there will always be a better tomorrow.
