Adjustment disorder is common as we go through life we often encounter sudden and drastic changes that we aren't quite prepared for mentally. While learning to adapt to these changes people struggling with adjustment disorder can go through periods of depression and anxiety that interrupt daily functioning. I help individuals navigate uncomfortable changes, learn coping skills to reduce anxiety, and help them feel more resilient.

Everyone experiences anxiety on some level, for some it can be debilitating and cause a host of problems including insomnia, anxiety/panic attacks, headaches, nausea, and more. Anxiety can disrupt a person's ability to move forward in life, keeping them stuck in a cycle of constant discomfort. I provide education on anxiety disorders which help individuals understand their fight/flight/freeze or flee responses. I also utilize somatic techniques to help the person regain control.

Embrace Psychotherapy treats PTSD and cPTSD (complex PTSD). PTSD is an umbrella term for many symptoms its main feature is how it transforms the individual's sense of safety, functioning, and well-being. Trauma lives in the body and keeps people in a constant cycle of discomfort. I help individuals reconnect with their bodies utilizing somatic techniques. CBT helps the individual process their trauma, break down false beliefs, and re-engage with the world.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a treatment approach primarily used for individuals with anxiety and depression although it is effective for other mental health issues as well. This treatment approach helps individuals break down cognitive distortions and mistaken or false beliefs so they can transform their thinking patterns and find relief in their symptoms.

Emotional Focused Therapy is a treatment approach that was designed mainly for couples. It helps individuals understand their attachment history and how it plays out in their relationships as adults. In couples counseling, individuals are able to reconnect and improve communication by learning how to express core emotions and understand their partner's attachment needs.

Trauma therapy approaches include somatic and relaxation techniques, processing trauma using narrative therapy, telling and retelling the traumatic event, and meditation. Individuals learn how to reconnect and FEEL their bodies using their senses to do so. Treatment is based on calming the nervous system and regaining a sense of safety.

EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and Reprocessing) is a gold standard treatment for PTSD and other types of trauma. It is an 8-step model designed to help the client safely and effectively reprocess traumatic memories so that potential responses, reactions, or triggers to the memories no longer affect the client.
