About My Clients

Do your emotions feel uncontrollable, maybe one minute you're alright, the next you feel like crying or having a panic attack? Has life felt alone, where no one can really understand what you've gone through? Childhood trauma has deep impacts and comes out in our adulthood in confusing and isolating ways. You do not need to live like this forever. Practices that work on the mind-body connection improve your self-compassion, insight, and coping tools. Let's work together to reach your goals.

My Background and Approach

The way we'll work together is based on my last few years of working with childhood trauma survivors, anxiety, and my training in the Trauma Resiliency Model. In our sessions, you set the pace; you never need to go further than you're comfortable. We start with coping skills to help you feel more in control of your emotions and increase your connection to your body. As we begin to explore how your childhood patterns are showing up disruptively in your life today, we're frequently checking in with your body and emotions to know when we're pushing you too far or we're in a good place. Over time, what used to feel so big and scary to talk about and lean into starts feeling lighter and softer. We will work collaboratively; I will gently challenge you, be by your side, and hold a space of compassion for your life until now and create room for hope for the life you have coming.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The hands we're dealt as children can be rough. I completely understand thinking, what was the point of all of this suffering? When we're adults and we get more choice in our surroundings and learning opportunities, that's when we get to decide what to make of this suffering. As a child of parents who escaped Iran during the 1979 revolution, I grew up surrounded by intergenerational trauma and people who never got the mental health resources to know what a child needed to thrive. I had years where I felt broken and didn't know what was wrong with me. Through my own therapy, I learned how to soothe my trauma triggers and anxiety and view them with a compassionate lens. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than seeing others, through patience and perseverance in therapy, find their own strength and self-love. Let's join forces to start building the life you want.
