About My Clients
Often my client's are a part of LGBTQIA+ community and their allies ages 4+. Even when we aren't working on aspects identity and sexuality, folx often find it's easier to do the hard work on things like trauma in this safe and affirming space.
My Background and Approach
My counselor journey started with the course work at the University of Northern Colorado, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2014) and a Masters degree in Clinical Counseling (2018). My clinical approach developed through providing individual and group treatment at centers focused on gender, in mental health hospitals, at substance treatment centers, and private practice. My approach is Client Centered and I draw on theories of Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child Centered Play Therapy, and EMDR.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We believe in Social Justice and are active in the LGBTQIA+ community. We provide training for other mental health providers and other professionals to become more informed about working with LGBTQIA+ people.
