About My Clients
Are you an individual who's struggling to move forward in life because anxiety, depression, or trauma have been holding you back? I can help! I believe that my role is to join you on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself, to build your insight into how your past might be impacting your present, and to provide you with the tools you can use to overcome the barriers you've faced.
My Background and Approach
Much of my experience has been in substance use treatment facilities, which has allowed me to recognize two things: the importance of meeting people where they are and the fact that everyone deserves compassion. I like to utilize a variety of techniques in order to ensure that I provide the most effective care to each individual client. My go-to strategies include cognitive-behavioral therapy, the trauma-informed treatment Seeking Safety, person-centered therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness meditation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the ability to become the best version of themselves and accomplish their personal goals. I have enjoyed working with multiple populations that many therapists would call "difficult to treat" and this work has shown me that, with the right techniques, anyone can be successful in therapy. My experiences have led me to a strong passion for disenfranchised individuals like those who have been in prison, people of color, and immigrants. In the past, I have volunteered for Crisis Text Line and I have a real respect for people who do that type of work.
