About My Clients

I enjoy working with people that want to learn new skills, make changes that will improve their quality of life, and who are interested in reflecting on their own coping and relationship patterns. I specialize in helping people with life changes, infertility, pregnancy loss, third-party reproduction, peripartum depression and anxiety, chronic illness, cancer, end of life issues, grief, burnout in medical professionals, ADHD, anxiety and depression.

My Background and Approach

I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Miami and completed my predoctoral internship at Yale School of Medicine and my postdoctoral fellowship at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. I have worked as faculty at UMASS Chan School of Medicine and Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine seeing patients, providing clinical teaching and supervision and conducting research. I have specialized training in health psychology including cancer, end of life issues, autoimmune disease, diabetes, heart disease, GI disease, solid organ and stem cell transplant, functional neurological disorders. I also have specialized experience in infertility, third party reproduction (donor egg, sperm, embryo and surrogacy), pregnancy loss, IUFD, termination for medical reasons, stillbirth, medical trauma, peripartum mental health, adjustment to parenting. I often work with patients with chronic anxiety, panic, phobias, health anxiety, depression, ADHD and burnout.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all try our best to care for ourselves and heal although sometimes everyone can get stuck and need help. I strongly believe that taking an intersectional view of identities is important and identify with anti-racism and feminist values and beliefs. I consider culture (individual beliefs, family culture, ethnicity and regional/national culture) when working with clients. I strongly believe that a collaborate, trusting, warm relationship is important in therapy and want to hear from clients when they would like a different approach or change in the therapy process. I speak Spanish, have lived in Mexico, Spain and Argentina and have often volunteered with a variety of immigrant/refugee communities. On a personal note, I love animals and travel.
