Burnout recovery and prevention is about knowing that you: 1) have the capacity and ability to make a difference, 2) can act in ways that match your real values, and 3) won't over-stretch your ability to give compassion and kindness to others. Coping with loss is about managing the immediate responsibilities, and the lingering issues that happen after everything gets quiet. This is not just about life and death, although that is certainly part of it. This is about acknowledging that all things are temporary, and that we must decide to make meaning with the time and opportunities available to us. EMDR is the number 1 researched effective treatment for PTSD and trauma related mood disorders. It helps you self-regulate, create a new understanding of what you've been through, and get any stuck energy out of your brain and body. We can work in weekly sessions or with intensive therapy, meeting multiple times per week, to make more progress even more quickly than you ever imagined. I provide EMDR, consult with others, and constantly sharpen my skills, because I have seen how it helps!

Because I treat therapists who have often already tried to apply their knowledge to themselves, I have to stay creative to keep my clients on their toes. Existentialism informs most of what I do. The idea is that meaning must be created, we can't wait for it to find us! This including helping you accept your role in taking responsibility for yourself and creating the life you desire, while acknowledging the real barriers and supports you might need along the way.
