About My Clients
I accompany you on your journey to harness your creativity, power, and motivation. I will be with you in your pain and your joy. I prefer swimming in the deep waters: exploring the bigger questions around the meaning of life and death, how to find and maintain fulfilling relationships, how to thrive in our precious, finite time here.
My Background and Approach
I integrate specialized training from a variety of institutions to help you better understand yourself. When you know your desires, you access your power. Through psychoanalytic training and Buddhist psychology, I help you learn what you want, and clear the obstacles out of your way. When the unconscious dictates our thoughts and behaviors, we are adrift in its hidden urges, fears, and conditioning. Getting to know yourself brings these mysterious workings into the light, so that you can choose what you do with them. We will go at your pace, and create together a warm environment in which new experiences emerge. I have undergone years of additional training in sexuality, gender, and relationship studies in order to better address your individual and relational needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I come from decades of experience working toward racial justice and LGBTQIA+ equal rights. While this may not be the center of our discussions, it is always a part of who I am and how I see the world. As a white therapist, I find particular importance in understanding my own racism in an effort to disrupt the white supremacist systems at play in our society. I believe we all possess innate wisdom and compassion, and also have the potential to grow more and stumble upon new insights.
