About My Clients
My LGBTQIA2S+ clients are acutely in tune with authenticity. At times, this quality can cause life to feel heavy and overwhelming. The worry, stress or fear can cause folx to feel stuck. The things that once helped, no longer work. Many of my clients have experienced depression, anxiety and trauma. Our journey together can help navigate these things and create a map for what is next.
My Background and Approach
Heather works mainly from a narrative perspective using mindfulness as an anchor. She describes working with her like going on a road trip where her clients are driving. Together we visit where we were, the old story, and where we want to go, the preferred narrative. Of course, Heather makes sure clients stop for fuel and maintenance along the way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Community service has been a passion for Heather since her first mission trip to Mexico at the age of fifteen. Building houses, providing food and fundraising have been some of the ways she has been of service. Heather has learned immeasurably from kids from villages in Peru, orphanages in Indonesia and schools in Thailand and Fiji. She has been a part of Operation Hope remaking schools in the US and Project Greatest Day through PSI Seminars where she brought Thanksgiving and Christmas to families in need. “Animals are my favorite”, confesses Heather. She has two dogs who have been known to make appearances during her telehealth sessions with clients. She’s a big fan of The Gentle Barn, a rescue farm which serves at risk youth by telling the animal’s stories and carrying the message of resilience and healing.
