About My Clients
It makes sense that you’re struggling. It makes sense that you’re overwhelmed, exhausted, and burned out. It makes sense that you’re angry! You’ve been working SO HARD to survive in a world that says there’s only one right way to be!
My Background and Approach
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan in 2017 and worked as a school social worker before transitioning to private practice. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, psychotherapist, practice owner, and license supervisor. My approach is client-centered and tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. Most often, my approach incorporates a variety of modalities including EMDR, mindfulness, internal family systems, and psychodynamic work to create a safe, judgment-free space for my clients to explore their strengths and challenges and to discover their authentic selves & enhance their ability to manage life's challenges. It's important to me to help eliminate barriers to care, and I am happy to write WPATH letters for gender-affirming care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are all affected by the oppressive structures that exist in our world, and I believe effective therapy must address the intersectional nature of oppression. I identify as an abolitionist and anti-oppression clinician and I believe my clients' lived experiences are the most important thing. As a social worker, I take my code of ethics seriously and I believe it is my personal and professional responsibility to engage in advocacy and social action to address systemic oppression. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my partner, friends and pets, camping, hiking, and caring for my many house plants. I also play competitive roller derby.
