About My Clients
From the time of the intake, I will work with you to figure out how to navigate your way back to feeling more centered and to a place where you can become a better version of yourself (or any version that you envision!). I believe in using a collaborative, compassionate, and empathetic approach to meet my clients where they are. If you are thinking about starting therapy, I would be honored to assist you with identifying the strengths and tools that lie within you.
My Background and Approach
At an early age, I discovered that I enjoyed helping others. My favorite teacher in high school was an understudy of Lawrence Kohlberg, a psychologist best known for his theory on stages of moral development. With her guidance, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the helping professions. As a result, I received my undergraduate degree in human services with a minor in gerontology. I specialize in working with those who have experienced trauma, including emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, multidimensional family therapy, and supportive counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I firmly believe that every person wants to do their best to cultivate a life that will make them feel fulfilled at any given point in time. From an early age, I was taught to never look at "a glass half full" but to strive to find a way to fill my glass to a level where I could feel a sense of personal satisfaction. I utilize a nonjudgmental approach when working with clients to assist them in identifying how their life experiences can help them achieve optimal success.
