About My Clients
I provide psychotherapy to individuals and IOP groups who are challenged in their interpersonal relationships and/or integrating capacities. I primarily work with anxiety, depression, gender/ sexual identity, trauma/abuse, work stressors, life transitions and attachment.
My Background and Approach
I have over a decade of experience in the social services field and have been a practicing psychotherapist since 2016. My approach to therapy is informed by my work as an IOP group facilitator and clinical supervisor, with a focus on helping clients repair emotional traumas and sustain meaningful connections by prioritizing their values and working collaboratively with the shame and discomfort that often define our pain. In my therapeutic approach, I incorporate principles of mindfulness, self-compassion, and an integrated self, recognizing that the overlapping principles support one another in promoting healing and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a queer, cisgender woman and first-generation college graduate from a low socioeconomic background, as well as a descendant of a Xicana mother and a white father. I am committed to working with individuals from a range of intersecting identities. My 15 years of personal experience within my own psychotherapy have informed the importance of a strong therapeutic alliance.
