About My Clients
I specialize in supporting folks that are impacted by anxiety, trauma, loss, and chronic illness. Many of my clients describe themselves as creatives, change-makers, healers, survivors, or outsiders that have experienced feeling 'othered.' Many identify as LGBTQIA+ and thus my work is rooted in trauma informed, queer and gender affirming care. I seek to honor all of your parts, identities, and stories, while focusing on your here-and-now experiences.
My Background and Approach
I am a board-certified art therapist, licensed professional counselor, supervisor, certified yoga teacher and adjunct professor with over 11 years of experience. Areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, chronic illness, loss, and working with folks with non-normative identities. I have experience in community, school, medical, and private practice settings. I seek to provide trauma sensitive, affirming, liberation centered care. My practice is informed by art therapy, somatic therapy, IFS, mindfulness, and radical self-compassion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you are enough, just as you are. I believe people need people, and we aren't meant to navigate this journey alone. I believe in examining the systems in which we exist, those full of oppression and injustice. To quote Jiddu Krishnamurti, "it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." I believe in trauma informed care and mindful self compassion. I believe that our bodies have innate wisdom and should be attuned to. I believe in queer and gender affirming care. I believe in radical self love, sex positivity and fat liberation. I believe in the creative power of the arts, art-ivism if you will. I believe in your capacity for healing, change, and empowerment.
