About My Clients

I love supporting adults with ADHD! Whether you were diagnosed as a kid or an adult, ADHD experiences can be really difficult and frustrating sometimes, often impacting several different areas of our lives. Maybe you're struggling to get things started, you jump from one task to another with no really sense of completing any of them, and folding laundry is one of the worst chores imaginable. Life feels so overwhelming and unmanageable. You are not alone!

My Background and Approach

I have lived experience with ADHD, and I was diagnosed only 3 years ago. It's a wild ride to receive a late in life diagnosis, often coming with a lot of anger and grief. This is all a normal reaction. I love working from a neurodiversity affirming framework, which values neurological differences. I'm not here to try to change you, because you don't need changing. What I can help with is empowering you to embrace who you are (and maybe even celebrate it), meet your needs, advocate for yourself, and determine ways to alter environments that work better for you brain.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Creating a safe, authentic, and non-judgmental relationship is necessary to success and very important to me in my work. There's both a micro and a macro reason mental health struggles develop. On one hand (micro), our early childhood experiences significantly shape how we engage with the world around us, with others in relationship, and with ourselves. We often tend to learn adaptive ways of engaging when we're children (especially if we have parents that are emotionally unavailable, abusive, or neglectful), but sometimes these learned behaviors are no longer serving us in adulthood. On the other hand (macro), I cannot ignore the systemic effects of inequity and oppression on mental well-being. Diving into the neurodiversity movement after my diagnosis has been so helpful with shifting my understanding and relationship with myself. Our society isn't designed for diverse brains, and that doesn't make ADHD and autistic people less valuable.
