About My Clients
What I have learned in my work is that our emotional worlds are always speaking—with complexity, creativity, and particularity. I work with individuals who, by way of curiosity or of finding themselves at a crawl under the weight of pain, desire a holding space and a sensitive mind to step into the messy places with them. As therapist my aim is to help you in the important work of listening to your honest experience, for the truths that want to be heard and have much to give.
My Background and Approach
My approach focuses on both the internal world of the self, and the external world of being a human among humans. I aim to help you address current pressing pain and develop a deeper relationship with yourself, with a greater sense of self-acceptance and harmony between the different sides of you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I welcome individuals of all walks of life. I commonly work with issues of anxiety, depression, ADHD, stressful transitions, family of origin processing, navigating close relationships, and personal growth work. In terms of specific groups, I have particular understanding and experience with the following: Those who grew up with a parent with mental illness or troubled personality dynamics // Highly Sensitive Persons (HSP) // Immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers (1st and 2nd gen) // Those for whom religion has played a formative role in their lives, whether they wish to incorporate theological categories into therapy or to process past experiences of religious environments and theologies. I have experience with every major religion but particularly Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
