About My Clients
My clientele has typically been women and people of the LGBTQ+ community though I do work with men too. These populations tend to deal with trauma and abuse stemming from the families, communities, schools and religions they grew up in which has a negative impact on their ability to move comfortably through the world today. This may look like trouble making decisions, low self esteem, loneliness, addiction, self harm, trouble forming close relationships, trouble with work life balance, etc.
My Background and Approach
In therapy, my focus is understanding your background and how it shapes who you are today. This helps us explore changes you want to make and develop effective strategies for achieving them, including self-care and improving communication. We may use psychoanalytic questions to explore your past, like “Who did you turn to when sad?” or “What stands out from middle school?” I might also provide practical advice, such as a daily meditation practice and journaling. When appropriate, we may consider psychedelic-assisted therapy for deeper insights and breakthroughs, always aligned with your goals and needs. My approach is flexible, ensuring that advice and methods are tailored to your preferences and that you have space to process and reflect.
