About My Clients
The folks Lisa works with are humans, people living with the challenges of navigating life. Lisa, a human, mostly works with cisgender populations who, for all different reasons, want a safe space to explore, process and discover how their thoughts, emotions and experiences influence how they act or feel.
My Background and Approach
Lisa's clinical experience is diversified, there is not enough allowed space within this text box to include everything. Briefly, professional experience includes working in the role of a mental health therapist at an inpatient substance abuse treatment center, an adult day care center, a family specialist on an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT), a clinical specialist at the Brentwood Mental Health Clinic and for over 6 yrs, at Behavioral Health Associates as a Clinical Social Worker. As an integrative therapist, with over 12 years experience, Lisa's approach blends CBT strategies, emotion focused, trauma informed and experiential interventions (creatively noticing feelings and physical sensations, below the chin, in the here & now, improving the relationship between you and you). Lisa takes pride in fostering a supportive, non judgmental space for you to improve relational patterns, feel your feelings and normalize the healing process ...all while being a human.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Incorporating modern neuroscience, along with current psychological, socialogical and biological understanding, Lisa works creatively. This therapist holds space for what is true and important to you AND is not just being a quiet observer who validates everything. Together, we slow down to explore, process and try on new skills or become curious when we experiment with this or that.
