I have been working with children since 2010. I became a Registered Play Therapist in 2019. In my experience, the parents need just as much support as the children. Parenting is complicated, hard and thankless. I enjoy helping parents refresh their sense of self and provide them with the tools to best support themselves and their children.

I like to think of anxiety as a little monster or creature that tells us lies. Anxiety can create a lot of havoc in our daily lives. When I address anxiety in the therapeutic setting, I am supporting client's in their battle to understand and take control of it.

Depression...there is so much to say about it. Depression is more than "being sad." Depression is more than "putting on a smile." I offer tools and resources on how to manage depression; I also offer a compassionate ear and understanding to the feelings and emotions depression can bring.

I utilize a Narrative Therapy approach in my sessions because I believe we all have the power to take charge of our stories (narratives). We have the ability to address problem-saturated stories, examine them and begin to reframe the world around us. Narrative therapy allows for us to take this power and be aware of the social constructs around us.

I use play therapy across the life span, meaning you do not have to be a child to engage in play therapy. As an adult Play therapy allows us to reach parts of our brain and body that we have forgotten. For children, play is the tool for communication, learning and healing. To be a Play Therapist, one must have extensive training and experience to utilize the tool of play in a therapeutic manner.

I have taken extensive courses and training to be familiar with CBT. I like the tools that CBT has to offer when understanding how thoughts can effect our emotions and behaviors. I offer a more flexible version of CBT concepts in my sessions.
