About My Clients
Are you a high achiever who struggles with anxiety or stress? Do you sometimes have unrealistic expectations for yourself? Are you feeling overwhelmed and looking for more balance in your life? Having spent my career working with adults with similar concerns, my main priority is to help you lessen your anxiety and find that balance. I want to get to know you and what has worked for you, as well as what has not.
My Background and Approach
I've spent my career working in a variety of community mental health settings supporting adults with the fewest resources and in the past two years, I've worked in private practice. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Music Therapy, creative/expressive arts therapy, and mindfulness, while also drawing from Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and attachment theory. I believe the most important part of the therapeutic process is the relationship between my clients and me. You are the expert of your life and experiences which I value and honor. We'll work together to create a plan for the change you want to make using a variety of tools which are suited to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone can change and with support and encouragement, these changes can last a lifetime. Much of the anxiety, overwhelm, and depression we struggle with stems from societal, cultural, and family expectations that have been imposed on us. When these expectations do not align with who we are, inner conflict and tension can arise. My focus in therapy is to support you in resolving this inner conflict to honor your authentic self and live life on your terms. I'm an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and invite all people into work with me.
