About My Clients

I work in an amazing group therapy practice in Rochester, NY where I specialize in treating trauma, behavior issues and emotional sensitivities to both adolescents and adults. In my private practice, I work with clients who are ready and motivated to make changes to improve their lives. Whether it's finding skills to cope with life stressors, manage unhelpful behaviors, or challenge thinking patterns, I'm here to help you take steps toward positive change.

My Background and Approach

I have worked with individuals (adolescents and adults) and families nationwide and abroad, specializing in trauma, behavior management, family systems, addiction, and tolerating distress. My style is humanistic and solution-focused, aiming to reach resolution by exploring the inner self and uncovering pathways to change. I believe we all have the potential to better ourselves, and that growth occurs while exploring the root causes of issues - not just treating symptoms. I have a holistic approach to therapy, treating the entire person rather than a specific disorder or hardship. I view my clients as experts on their own lives and my role as the facilitator of change. I help address my clients' struggles while, equally importantly, maintaining areas of strength. I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a therapist living with Type 1 Diabetes and am a strong advocate for bridging the gap between diabetes & mental health. I'm passionate about treating trauma and believe that everyone, no matter their condition, has the opportunity to heal. With the right tools and resources, we can learn to manage our symptoms and improve our overall wellness and daily functioning. I’ve spent most of my adult life living and working in various cities around the United States and abroad. I'm passionate not only about travel, but in exploration - of the world, cultures, finding new pathways in our own backyards, and, most importantly, within ourselves. Throughout my travels, I realized that no matter where in the world we go, what we explore within ourselves is arguably the most important piece of our journeys.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
