About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who is ready to take the first step toward improving their mental health, even if that first step feels overwhelming. I work best with individuals who are seeking a safe, supportive space to explore their challenges, whether they’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or an eating disorder. I specialize in helping adults and adolescents who are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their goals and passions.
My Background and Approach
I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), with a DEA license to prescribe controlled substances and extensive experience in managing a wide range of mental health conditions. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and eating disorders, among others. With years of clinical experience, I’ve honed a holistic and patient-centered approach to care. This means that every client I work with receives tailored treatment designed to meet their unique needs and goals. Whether it’s medication management, psychotherapy, or exploring lifestyle changes, I aim to empower clients with actionable strategies to improve their mental health and overall quality of life. I’ve worked in diverse settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and telehealth platforms, which has given me a deep understanding of how mental health impacts people across different stages of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in creating a safe and inclusive space where everyone feels valued, respected, and heard. As a passionate advocate for mental health equity, I support initiatives that break down barriers to care, particularly in underserved communities. I am proud to be part of the Black community and actively support movements like Black Lives Matter, which aim to address systemic inequalities and promote social justice. Additionally, I am a firm supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, and I strive to ensure that my practice is welcoming and affirming for individuals of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Outside of my professional life, I volunteer with local organizations focused on suicide prevention and mental health education. These causes are deeply personal to me, as I understand the transformative power of support and connection during challenging times. I also value holistic wellness and enjoy exploring mindfulness practices, exercise, and nutrition as part of mental health care.
