About My Clients
I see adults who are interested in a person-centered, psychodynamic approach to therapy. I am a trauma-informed provider who works with clients that want to explore how their identity plays out in their behaviors, relationships, and community. I work with clients who are struggling with depression and anxiety, adults with ADHD, and attachment challenges and use a combination of art and talk therapy interventions in my sessions.
My Background and Approach
I received my master’s degree in art therapy from New York University in 2017. I have gained experience working in schools, hospitals, residential settings, community centers, foster care, clinics, abroad, and as a supervisor. I am currently working in private practice. I have collaborated with clients across the lifespan. Some additional clinical areas of interest and experience include trauma informed therapy, IFS, CBT, group art therapy, art therapy with displaced people, therapy for immigrants, Internal Family Systems, Transpersonal therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, yoga & art therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and meditation. An important aspect of my work is looking at intersectionality in the context of mental health and supporting clients in finding new ways to nurture themselves in an ever changing world.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in a holistic view of health. All elements of a person's life are important factors when in the therapy space. As a provider of color, I am aware that my identity impacts the therapeutic relationship. I practice with an intersectional lens. I am committed to continual learning of new and relevant strategies to expand my practice to be more inclusive.
