Through or work together, I’ll support you in figuring out how to work through challenges in your relationships, and how to take care of yourself too. We will work with self-compassion to help you be able to care for yourself even when things are hard, and learn to set boundaries and speak up for what you need from others. I will provide a supportive space to explore and understand the patterns that show up for you, and how you can relate to people differently.
Through or work together, I’ll support you in making peace with food and moving away from eating disorder behaviors. I am an advocate for Anti-Diet Culture and am Health at Every Size, and am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I use these lenses as the foundation of my work and believe that you do not have to change your body. I use Intuitive Eating to help you let go of rules around food and trust your own internal sense of what you need.
I will help you cope the anxious thoughts and feelings, so that they won’t take up as much of your headspace. We will work with self-compassion to help you be able to care for yourself even when things are hard. I will provide a supportive space to explore and understand the causes of your anxiety, and what you can do to address it instead of letting it control you. We will incorporate mindfulness tools so you can manage the thoughts and feelings that arise with a greater sense of ease.
I am a relational therapist, which means the relationship between you and me is the most important aspect of our work. With warmth, insight, and empathy, I create a space for you to feel accepted and supported just as you are. Through our relationship we can begin to uncover the way you relate to others and address this in the "here and now" of the therapy room. Relational therapy allows you the space to fully feel seen and heard, and to show up and be accepted just as you are.
My collaborative and humanistic approach helps us work together to understand what you are struggling with and to create space for your inner wisdom to unfold, and means I see you as a whole human being with your own unique challenges and strengths. I always welcome feedback to make sure that our work together is feeling supportive to you. I also use mindfulness and self-compassion to help manage the overwhelming emotions and anxiety that come with being human.
