About My Clients
My clients usually experience relief within the first 6-8 sessions as we utilize EMDR therapy and resources (mindfulness based interventions) to reduce the emotional distress caused by past experiences. We work together to identify themes and core beliefs which continue to be reinforced by present experiences. We then reprocess past experiences to allow you to fully process experiences to significantly reduce the emotional distress they cause.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is both trauma-informed and trauma-focused. I utilize EMDR therapy and mindfulness to help reduce the emotional distress you are experiencing from current experiences, within your relationship with yourself and your interpersonal relationships (romantic and friendships). We identify the themes and the negative core beliefs you have held about yourself, others and the world for as long as you can remember. We identify memories and experiences you have had and are currently experiencing that reinforce these beliefs and reprocess these memories to desensitize the emotional charge they have to reduce your overall emotional distress. Reprocessing these memories can lead to reduced emotional reactivity, improvement in your ability to regulate your emotions, increased confidence and self-esteem and improvement in the quality of your relationships.
