About My Clients
You see yourself as smart, but challenged (or not challenged enough). Perhaps you've experienced some trauma, or feel stuck. You want to thrive but don't know how to get there. You would love to "paint with all the colors of the wind" but the world seems too bright, or loud, or you cry a lot. Maybe it feels like your saturation filter is pegged on high. Others describe you as "too intense" but you don't know how to "tone it down." I know what that feels like and I can help.
My Background and Approach
I'm creative. I love learning and get excited about techniques, but ultimately I see how they all turn back to the brain and relationships. How do you train your brain? You practice. How do you improve your relationships, practice. In our sessions you might be practicing relationship skills with a horse, with me, or with nature. You might be practicing your relationship with yourself by learning emotional flexibility, making meaning from what has happened or is happening to you, or working on an art project. How will you know which of these you will be doing? We will work together and co-create what methods are going to work best for you. You might have something you want to try, or I might encourage you to try something, with your permission.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I think the most important thing is that somewhere deep within we all have the power to heal ourselves. Our beings are part of a magical and mystical universe. I believe that every person should be granted the opportunity to learn, grow, and be able to fully express themselves (without causing harm to others.) Among my diverse experiences are adopting and training a wild Mustang, traveling around the world, designing and constructing costumes for the theatre, and attempting children's book illustration. AND parenting two wonderful "out of the box" young persons. Spiritually I tend to turn to Nature, art, mythology, and dreams. I've studied various religions and cultures and find the common elements remarkable. I've met so many fascinating and interesting people in my life, I tend to be open to just about anything.
