When things change in our lives it can be extremely stressful and anxiety-provoking! You are not alone in this! We can talk about every angle of this. Our goal will be to talk about our reactions to these changes and what we can do in response in a healthy and proactive way.

Being a part of the LGBT+ community I understand what it means to be burdened with feeling unaccepted in certain parts of society. These messages we get from the world can seep into our souls and make us feel unloveable, unwanted, and that we just don't belong. As a gay man, I want to provide a safe place for my community to be able to have candid conversations about LGBT+ issues with someone who also deals with them and can understand easier what it means to be a part of our marginalized group.

Person-Centered Therapy focuses on the therapeutic relationship. People are not flawed and are not their mental diagnosis. Everyone has the capacity to change and are on a path to self-actualization. The therapist provides the client with empathy and unconditional positive regard to create change in therapy. The client may have had "conditional" positive regard with many people in their life. This therapy creates a safe environment for the client to explore thoughts and feelings in the moment.

Couples coming to counseling want to learn how to communicate better with each other. To recognize the cycles that they find themselves falling into. They also want to work on becoming more intimate and connected to their partner. I work with all types of relationships including open relationships, queer relationships, and those wanting to explore new things together.

CBT is one of the most scientific based therapy models in modern psychology. CBT focuses on exploring the problematic distortions and thinking that one may have that are causing problems. CBT can help a client gain a better understanding of their behavior and have better confidence in life situations.

Humanistic therapy focuses on the here and now. The humanistic therapist provides a space of warmth, empathy, and acceptance to meet the client where they are at. In humanistic therapy, there is no power dynamic and we are both equals exploring these issues collaboratively. We may explore different issues in life including freedom, death, isolation, and meaninglessness.

Those suffering from codependency may be feeling like they have to give up themselves in order to make the relationship work. Often times you may put the other person's needs ahead of your own because if you don't the other person may realize they don't love you and leave you. You may have thoughts of "If I am not helpful, useful, or what my partner needs me to be then they are going to leave me" These are all scary thoughts! We can unpack them in a safe space together.

As children dependent on our caregivers we begin to create safety for ourselves in any way we can. As we grow older we carry these ways of survival with us which plays out in our adult relationships. These may manifest in us as codependency, low self-esteem, and people-pleasing.

EFT is an attachment-based therapy that helps clients face existential life issues by creating a solid sense of self and resiliency. This type of therapy is experiential and offers corrective experiences to help clients relate better to themselves and others in a safe and secure way.

Our minds are actually made up of sub-personalities. We may have our "work part" or "romantic part" and our work will be to get to know these different parts and understand what they do for our internal system. IFS believes we have an inherent self that can lead these parts in healthy ways by showing them compassion and a sense of self-leadership. This therapy will help the parts begin to trust the self. *IFS Informed

I utilize the lens of astrology to help clients gain insight into their unique cosmic blueprint by examining archetypes and symbolism to provide pathways to profound personal insights and alignment with one's authentic path.
