About My Clients

I work closely with adults of varying age and life experience - particularly those clients who are struggling with anxiety and depression, those experiencing relationship difficulty, identify as LGBTQIA+, are participants in non-monogamous and polyamorous, kink and alt-sex communities, and those who are simply looking for a practitioner whose approach is non-judgmental and genuinely sex-positive.

My Background and Approach

For over a decade, I have practiced social work in varying clinical settings, with a focus on acute care, behavioral change, and emotional management. In private practice, my focus and training has been directed toward therapeutic work specialized to the needs of people in the queer and sex-positive communities. Whether engaged in individual or relationship-focused therapy, we will take a strategic approach which honors your life experience and the certitude that you are your own best expert. We will blend concrete/strategic and emotional/behavioral approaches, to help create balance. Together, we will utilize a combination of mindfulness practice, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Strategic Therapy, to help enact long-lasting change. I have received additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and am providing EMDR as supplemental treatment virtually, when appropriate.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I truly believe that you know yourself best, and that your journey is as unique as you are. The most essential tenet of this work is affirmation that you can trust yourself to know and make changes that will benefit your life. Our environments shape who we are, and good treatment always includes a focus on strength and recovery. I believe Black Lives Matter, that racial inequities have everyday impacts, and that an approach which centers social and racial equity is imperative to the therapeutic process. I understand how important it is that members of the LGBTQIA+ community connect with a therapist who is knowledgeable about the impact of our queer identities on our lives. I additionally take a sex positive stance, celebrating sexuality and expression as inherent to healthy living, promoting safe sexual education to people of all ages, and celebrating diverse sexual identities (including asexuality and aromanticism.) We will build your path together.
