About My Clients
I specialize in working with couples where one or both partners are Neurodivergent (Autism, ADHD, Sensory Disorders); couples exploring non-monogamy, polyamory, or other alternative relationship models; relationships between 3 or more people (friend groups, artistic collaborators, polyamorous people, families); LGBTQ+ / Queer couples adjusting to life transitions or experiencing recurring conflict, and Creative/Artist couples adjusting to life transitions or experiencing recurring conflict.
My Background and Approach
I believe that you are the expert of you. You will never be forced to talk about a tough topic before you're ready. I welcome every emotion, judgement, or fear you bring into the room—even the ones that feel most sensitive or shameful. I'll hold you accountable and draw your attention to patterns and unhelpful behaviors that go unnoticed, and together we'll explore them with curiosity and non-judgement. My job as the therapist is to help you and your partner to process your past and current struggles to reconnect with your own strengths. I help you to thrive by providing you with guidance, tools and knowledge along your journey. I use mindfulness approaches, interpersonal neurobiology, acceptance & commitment therapy (ACT), and Attachment Theory to guide our work along with some CBT influences. I help couples identify their problem areas and patterns, and then develop new skills and tools to lead to less explosive fights, more productive conversations and increased connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Health At Every Size (HAES) practitioner, trauma-informed, sex positive, kink positive, and sex worker friendly. I believe that all bodies are good bodies and hold wisdom about our emotional healing that can be helpful to the therapy journey. I am anti-racist and anti-fascist and I oppose power structures that violate human rights. I believe that therapy is a space for each of us to explore our darkest fears or deepest wounds as well as celebrate our greatest strengths and unique genius. I strive to create a therapeutic space where I show up as my real and authentic self, just as I am asking you to do. Although healing and improving your mental health is certainly challenging, it can also be creative, inspiring, thrilling, and at times, kind of funny or fun. I will hold space for you to experience and express the full range of feelings that arise in our work; nothing is too shameful or scary for us to face together.
