About My Clients

Given the climate we find ourselves in, it can be difficult to slow down, to pause. If you feel like you struggle with accessing and processing your emotions, have difficulty with a life event or transition, want to change habits, struggle in relationships, or are uncomfortable in your body, I'm here for you. I work with kids, teens, adults, and couples to explore communication with self and others using mindfulness and evidence-based practices to develop holistic and lasting care.

My Background and Approach

I have over 7 years of therapeutic work under my belt, four years of teaching experience, am certified as an End-of-Life Doula, and completed my clinical Master’s in Social Work degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in May of 2023. I come from an eclectic experiential and therapeutic background, having held positions as a language and special education teacher, intensive in-home behavior therapy clinician, and was a provider for trauma-informed therapeutic foster care case management. I offer a safe space, using a strength-based and person-centered approach focusing on communication, boundary creation, and self-reflection. I am trained in play therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, am LGBTQIA+ allied, and use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to address issues that range from anxiety, to depression, to compulsions, and beyond.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a traveler and an avid outdoorsy person, I believe our relationships to our environments, both natural and human-made, have direct effects on our well-being. With a focus on mind-body-spirit-creativity connections, I feel that everyone holds the capacity for growth and deeper understanding of self and others. When not working, I love to hike with my dog, explore new places/people/lifestyles, and volunteer in harm reduction spheres and "death cafes," where discussions of death, loss, grief, etc. can occur in a safe and understanding space.
