About My Clients
My clients often request support in navigating depression, anxiety, self-esteem, gender identity, burnout, perfectionism, neurodivergence and other such concerns. In working with me, you'll find a therapist who is open-minded, welcoming, approachable, flexible, at times serious or silly, and, above all, committed to liberatory principles.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, I have worked in public and private settings such as group practices, community mental health centers, and correctional settings. I have experience in supporting clients through self-harm, suicidality, substance use concerns, depression, anxiety, trauma, third culture issues, and ADHD. I utilize eclectic modalities to achieve your goals and have received intensive training in DBT, DBT-PE, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, person-centered therapy, and experiential therapy. As a Filipino immigrant, I value cultivating a culturally-responsive and trauma-informed space where you and I are “kapwa,” the Filipino word for kindred souls. In our therapeutic relationship, we are a team. I learn from you just as much, if not more, than you may learn from me. The collaborative relationship we build together is essential in creating a space where you feel respected, heard, and most importantly, fully accepted. My goal is to bring your sense of self in alignment with your goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer and neurodivergent immigrant from the Philippines, I focus on upholding the principles of liberation psychology, authenticity, and decolonization, especially through offering equitable and accessible therapeutic services for clients experiencing mental health concerns and systemic harm, in addition to organizing with local groups and engaging in community work.
