About My Clients
Coming to therapy is a big step! Are you anxious, sad or feeling alone? Do you struggle with school or work performance? Are you feeling you do it all and are burnt out? Are you ready to lead a more meaningful life? Therapy is a choice to grow, heal, and give yourself space to work on your needs. Clients come to me looking for someone who “gets them” and their situation. Together we will work to understand your feelings, find ways to focus on you, to help you feel lighter, hopeful and happier.
My Background and Approach
I have been a therapist for many years and received my Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a trained therapist, I believe deeply that resolving conflict in relationships is essential to reducing stress. I have advanced training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which research has found is the gold standard of treatment. I also utilize Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Family Systems approach, Motivational Interviewing, CAMS Suicide Prevention, and Person-Centered therapy methods.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Clients are looking for an attentive and engaged therapist because therapy should be where you feel safe and seen. I believe in focusing on what is creating your distress and then healing old burdens to unveil change. I believe everyone has strengths that, when realized, can bring healing and lasting change. Life is hard, and our experiences over time often create habits that don't always serve us well. Through guidance, we all can let go of these challenges, feel good about ourselves, and heal our relationships.
