About My Clients
As a Queer clinician, I am particularly interested in Queer flourishing, providing gender-affirming care and related identity concerns, though obviously I also work with people who are not queer-identified. It is a common human experience to feel "Othered." My background makes it easy to identify with anyone's experience of feeling like an outsider, however, that shows up for you.
My Background and Approach
I primarily work from a psychodynamic perspective. I believe that our core struggles are organized by unconscious conflicts. Our goal is to become aware of these internal dynamics and through this awareness to be liberated to alter them. Our earliest experiences and the cultures we inhabit fundamentally shape how we show up in relationships, how we think, and what we believe is possible for ourselves. It is very meaningful to me to be in a position to bear witness to your personal struggles and to help you to find the solutions that are specific to you. I have experience with those experiencing grief/loss, crisis in self-esteem, and attachment wounds. In a world that is growing increasingly uncertain, I aim to provide a space outside of the noise where your concerns are treated with attention, respect and care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value authenticity, emotional honesty, mutual respect, and compassion. I am politically engaged member of my community.
