About My Clients
There are all kinds of reasons that we end up feeling that we aren’t good enough, are unlovable, and unworthy. Most often these reasons are not our fault AND we don’t have to stay this way. Therapy can be a great place to explore aspects of yourself that are difficult to love and accept, to help you better understand why you are repeating patterns that are harming you or the people around you, and to find a place where you can safely express all of who you are.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Drexel University in 2013 with a MA in Creative Arts Therapy and concentration in Dance/ Movement Therapy. I have a post graduate certificate in Advanced Training in Affirmative Care for Transgender Communities and additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment modality for working with trauma. I am also a yoga teacher and Theatre of the Oppressed facilitator. Prior to grad school I had worked in a wide variety of fields with everything from performing and technical theatre, to personal training, to municipal finance and administration. I feel these experiences have been an extremely valuable resource in my counseling practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Although I have experience in working with people with many different conditions and issues from bipolar, anxiety, depression, and psychosis. I have a special love for working with trans and gender diverse individuals as well as supporting their care givers and loved ones. Another area of focus in my work is working through trauma and abuse history. EMDR is a modality that helps shift an individuals understanding of themselves in the context of past traumas, it can interrupt patterns of “being sucked back into the past” and of trauma responses playing out in daily life and relationships.
