About My Clients
My clients often come to me feeling insecure, numb or overwhelmed. Through my experience, I know real change only happens when we feel safe and understood. I provide a curious, compassionate space for clients to explore their struggles so they can develop inner resources and move toward greater security, confidence and balance.
My Background and Approach
I have years of experience with various populations, settings and levels of care. From this experience, it remains clear that we all share the same needs for psychological well-being: a sense of meaning, a sense of worthiness, and a sense of belonging. My work involves helping you meet these needs and let go of beliefs or fears that get in the way. I am Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) through the IFS Institute. I am also trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an empirically-validated method shown to reduce emotional distress caused by painful experiences. I have additional training in Mindful Self-Compassion and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe each and every person possesses an innate, compassionate wisdom within themself. I also believe that we all have "parts," which often show up as repeated thoughts, emotions, or behaviors. These "parts" are well-intentioned as they help us get our physical, emotional and relational needs met. However, trauma, grief and prolonged periods of distress can cause them to get "stuck" in their role of protecting you from past pains. This "protection" may have been necessary then but is not now. And it is not who you are. When we connect to our inner wisdom, and have compassion and understanding for our "parts," we can more confidently and courageously show up as our true selves and live into the life we want.
